Our Focus

“Every creature must hear. Therefore, the doors must be kept open.” –Rees Howells

Through our years of ministry in Washington, DC, we have learned much about contending prayer and intercession. While we remain steadfast in intercession for God’s purposes for the United States, we also labor for the advancement of the Gospel among the nations.

Missiologists have identified a strategic region of great need known as the 10/40 Window. Nearly two-thirds of the world’s population lives within these boundaries. This region is central to global missions because it contains the vast majority of the world’s unreached people groups. It is often called The Resistant Belt because it holds the spiritual strongholds of the world’s Muslims, Hindus, and Buddhists.

Within this region, JHOP DC carries a particular burden for East and Southeast Asia—areas facing the threat of geopolitical upheaval, military conflict, and war. Such instability threatens the spread of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. While demonic powers would use war to hinder the Gospel’s advance, God is raising up JHOP DC to build a prayer movement and mobilize strategic intercession that confronts these powers and opens the way for His Kingdom.

Rees Howells was taught by the Holy Spirit that any person, government or international situation that hindered the spread of the Gospel would become a legitimate target to be challenged and defeated through intercession.
